The apartment entrance sign.Currently listening to: Mika: Billy Brown
I was out studying my theory site today, looking at the effect of the automobile on the neighborhood. I ran across this garage, in a parking lot. Not that exciting, except for the signs posted that say "No Parking". I laughed, and thought it was ironic....
I decided to take the long way downtown.. along the Centennial Trail. I've yet to decide if I like this footbridge across the Spokane River. Kinda funky, but reminds me of the 1980's postmodern movement. It would be interesting to find out who designed it... what they were thinking... and if I dated it correctly.
Crossing one of the sky bridges from Riverpark Square into Crescent Court. I've never really appreciated how wide this street is downtown... kind of seems ridiculous with only a few cars on it right now. It does look like there's something to be said about curbside parking in Spokane though!
A trip to Portland is not complete without a trip to Music Millennium to load up on way too much music. Tonight 'Daytime Volume' a local band was playing... and I really liked 'em, so I picked up their album! This one of the most eclectic places I've ever been in, in terms of inventory and occupants... totally normal to see some punk middle schoolers, old folks, and indie scenesters all at the same time. And I don't know what it is, but I love the smell of the place.
I got to go on a facility tour of Southwest Washington Medical Center, including a look around [and over] the roof!!! so this is the landscape, parking garage, a bit of the fountain, mill plain, and a bunch of residential. Talk about an awesome experience! I was at the highest point in the Vancouver!!! You can see downtown Portland from up here, as well as all all of the surrounding mountains... cool cool cool

I was at studio this morning prepping for another studio critique tomorrow! Figured it would be best to review my old work, before designing a new board. My presentation consists of the left 4 boards adn the models underneath. I'm feeling confident again with my work and design... which is very promising. I got some great news this afteroon that helped.... I found out that I got into the Architecture Masters 1.5 year program @ wsu-spokane! I'm going to grad school this fall! Now I just have to keep working hard while I'm waiting to hear back from the other schools I've applied to.
Today we went and got our caps and gowns for graduation [58 more days!]. When we were picking them up, they asked what our majors were, and after Gillian said 'architecture' they said 'wow!!! That's great! Congratulations!' I wonder if it's a shock that we made it? Regardless, I really like the tassel, it's pretty sleek.
