My studio went on a site visit to a few libraries around Oregon, the most famous of which was the Mount Angel Seminary Library by Alvar Aalto. It's an amazing space, I'm so glad I got to experience it.

Eugene Federal Court House

On a trip to Eugene today to visit the main campus, my new studiomates and I stopped at the new federal building to check it out. We got pictures of the outside, but couldn't take any indoors. It was a shame, the interior was sweet.

Tonight I went to the Candlelight Tour at Fort Vancouver, an annual event where an evening in the life of the residents of the fort in the mid 19th century is reenacted. This the looking at the blacksmiths shop (left) and the doctor and merchant building (right).

On our 2nd day in Seattle I convinced my group to go see the newly opened sculpture park on the sound. It's a really neat place to be in, I really liked Calder's piece.

Went to Seattle for Cougar Football Saturday Gridiron Classic against San Diego. Cougs won, it was a beautiful day, got to seem some old friends... very fun.

Sausage Festival

The 37th Annual Vancouver Sausage Festival started tonight. I hadn't been since I went off to college, so it was fun to be home and get to go ride the carnival rides with my cousins again. The "Pride is our Guide" slogan cracks me up.

We went to see Spamalot at the Keller Auditorium today. The stage was pretty cool, really simple, and the first time I've seen digital projection play a role.
