life365

I'm simply amazed that the year has gone by so quickly and that the life365 project is over. It's been an interesting study and experiment. I don't feel like I've become a better photographer but I do catch myself becoming more aware of opportunities that I want to capture. There were times when I was disappointed that I didn't have a camera with me!

1 year = 365 pictures = 365,000 words

I realize how much has changed and to have documented my life in Spokane, graduating from WSU, trips from Vancouver BC to Chicago, and starting a new phase of my education in Portland will be something I treasure. Of course there will be countless academic studies I could do.... analyzing different patterns and aspects, but I find something even more fascinating in being able to look back at a random day, where nothing special happened and still be able to recreate as if it were yesterday. This has been a wonderful experience.

Portland model

My studio class stumbled upon this model of downtown Portland when we were walking through the Portland Building. It was huge and the craftsmanship was spectacular. Each block could be removed for new development. Seen in the front is PGE Parking, looking East towards the River.

Grainville Island Market

On our way out of town we stopped at this amazing Public Market. It's a great building, has just about anything you could want to do your grocery shopping. I wish we had one in Portland.

Vancouver Towers

We toured just about all of Downtown Vancouver today... much different than Vancouver USA! I love this city, it's amazing. These are the residential towers and park spaces surrounding them, like courbusier's city in a park.

hostel

We started our study tour to Vancouver BC today. This is the hostel we're staying in near downtown... not bad at all! We got in late due to a delay at the border... we're all exhausted, went to a lecture by Gordon Price, which was amazing...
