final studio project

I pinned up my final studio project today! It was a lot of work, but I've never had such a huge sense of accomplishment from a studio course before. I'm really proud of my work this term.

Today is the day to finish up Studio and I'm amazed how empty the 2nd floor lab is! Here's hoping the plotter doesn't fail this weekend either...

I've been spending a lot of time at studio lately working on renderings and presentation boards for school... I take a lot of crap for being the only person (I think) in the school who uses the mouse with their left hand. Today was no exception...

UO confirmation

Today I finally decided that I'll be attending graduate school at University of Oregon in Portland beginning this fall. I can't wait!

uo grad day: aerial tram

I came back home to Portland today to go to Grad Day at University of Oregon | Portland. I got to meet professors and hang out with classmates all day. It was a blast! We decided to take a trip on the new aerial tram... something I have wanted to do! It amazing that a group of young architects, who come from all around the county, all seem to react the same way when experiencing something cool: mouths open and cameras out!

Today I few home to visit Portland and grad school this weekend. It was such a nice day, so I decided to go check out the area early. This block is everything we have been talking about in school this year: walkability, light rail, human scale, eyes on the street.... etc... it's a fantastic neighborhood and I'd be thrilled to go to school here every day!

In an effort to start my final model for studio, I started cutting out the surrounding context buildings. I quickly realized that cutting out all the odd and misshapen windows would not only be a time commitment, but ugly as sin as well.
